apogee design jewelry is the work and product of lisa pelton. semi-precious and never-precious beads and stones work with vintage beads and findings, found objects are incorporated to create an absolutely limit-free array of design options and objects.

multi-stranded bracelets formed from a single coiled wire are the centerpiece of apogee design. the term apogee describes the earth and moon at their farthest points apart. our name describes these pieces made of a wide range of craft and treasure, which vary in their mix, from rough hewn metals and scarcely touched stones, glass and other primitive finds, to beautifully faceted stones of every size and hue. lampworked glass, vintage beads and findings. necklaces born of tiny tourmaline or sapphires, coins, pearls, silver ,ceramics, and a never ending supply of color and texture, are joined with stunning focal beads, lockets or handcrafted clasps. each piece offers an endless array of option and opportunity for women who live without match.

bijoux mimi:
a children's collection of jewelry made in the same multi-strand style. bijoux mimi grew out of apogee and captures the spirit and energy of the collection's namesake, lisa's six year old daughter, (and patron of the arts) mimi.

mimi loves these beautiful and oddly matched combinations in design at least as much as her mother does. The bracelets are child sized and usually child-priced, though a few more serious pieces turn up sometimes.

also part of bijoux mimi are children's bracelets and womens pieces which feature stones, beads, charms, and ceramic animals from china, utilizing chinese characters, icons and other elements which will be easily recognizable to women and girls who are members of FCC (Families with Children from China). Profits from these pieces will be donated to the New York Chapter of FCC, a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization.
